Thulth Calligraphy – May – Sundays

This once a week workshop is a great introduction to the Thulth style of calligraphy and you can learn and continue your practice with one of our resident calligraphers. Dedicating the time once a week is important for you to develop your skills and to be able to produce a series of works. Each week, you can practice writing letters and new words until you are proficient enough to produce a complete piece.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Important tips on the correct way to learn the art of Arabic calligraphy
  • A brief explanation of traditional Arabic calligraphy tools.
  • Explaining the angle of the pen and the movement of the pen in the line of the patch.
  • Learn vocabulary and compounds and explain them with a points scale.
  • Explanation of writing words and lines in Thulth calligraphy
  • A review of some artistic writings and historical information about Thulth calligraphy
  • Developing the trainee’s writing skill and developing his written culture

Course Outcome: 

Producing a series of simple written works.

    • Sundays (5, 12, 19, 26  May) 1:30 – 3 pm | 6 hours of learning | 120 AED

Workshop Location: Villa #16 in Naseem Albahar, AlFaseel, near Sharq Hospital 

Calligraphy Tutor:
This will be taught by our resident calligraphers either Mr. Mohammad Abu Almajd or Mohsen Nassar.

  • No refunds are acceptable and you need to attend the specified hours and times listed on this page.
  • Please note that you should attend at least 90% of the hours to receive your attendance certificate for this course.
