A comprehensive foundation programme that introduces participants to the art of Indian miniature painting and its traditional techniques through an integrated eight-week course. Each week explores a different theme, including botanical elements, trees, birds and animals, architecture, and portraiture, with a focus on developing a specific set of skills and techniques.
Although the weekly themes vary, the programme is designed to progress gradually, enabling participants to learn paper and colour preparation, design transfer, outlining, base colouring, burnishing, building subtle tonal gradations, and adding the final details.
Participants may register for a single week independently, completing elements and studies related to that week’s theme. Those attending the full seven-week programme will progressively apply the skills they have acquired to complete an integrated miniature painting project by the end of the programme.

Dr. Susana Marín, an artist, researcher, and educator, specializes in Pahari and Indian miniature painting. Her training in India was under renowned traditional artists like Padma Shri Vijay Sharma and Manish Soni. She holds a PhD from The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London, where she supervises doctoral students and serves as a visiting lecturer in Indian painting. Dr. Marín also conducts international workshops, and her work has been showcased in the United States, Europe, and the Indian subcontinent.
