Mamluk Geometric Patterns – Short Course – September to December 2026

Course Description

A specialised course in Mamluk geometric ornamentation, one of the richest and most complex styles in Islamic art.
Participants learn to analyse and construct stars, polygons, and radial networks using compass and straightedge,
With an understanding of the characteristics of Mamluk patterns and how to avoid errors in proportion and balance.

Period September–December 2026.
Course Language: Arabic and English.
Course duration: 20 training hours.
Duration: 10 sessions, at two hours per session.

Attendance options

Option one: Sunday

The appointment Sunday, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Attendance dates:
September 2026: 27; October 2026: 4, 11, 18, 25; November 2026: 1, 8, 15, 22; December 2026: 13.

Option two: Wednesday

The appointment Wednesday, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Attendance dates:
September 2026: 30; October 2026: 7, 14, 21, 28; November 2026: 4, 11, 18, 25; December 2026: 9.

The student chooses only one attendance option, and registration does not include attending the other appointment.

Fees

Base price 600 United Arab Emirates dirhams.
Early bird price: 500 UAE dirhams.

About the teacher

Mustafa Sedqi is an artist and teacher specialising in Islamic geometric ornamentation.
He focuses on teaching the understanding of logic and proportions through clear, step-by-step progression.

Location:
In person in Fujairah – the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation.

Certificate
A minimum of 90% of training hours must be attended.
