Course Description

A specialised course in Mamluk geometric ornamentation, one of the richest and most complex styles in Islamic art.
Participants learn to analyse and construct stars, polygons, and radial networks using compass and straightedge,
With an understanding of the characteristics of Mamluk patterns and how to avoid errors in proportion and balance.

Period September–December 2026.
Course Language: Arabic and English.
Course duration: 20 training hours.
Duration: 10 sessions, at two hours per session.

Fees

Base price 320 UAE dirhams for all dates or 40 dirhams for a single date.

Objectives and Outcomes

• Understanding the characteristics of Mamluk geometric ornamentation.
• Constructing star and polygon networks using a compass and ruler.
• Apply proportions and balance precisely.
• Production of an integrated Mamluk geometric pattern.
• Each batch will produce one complete ornament.

About the teacher

Mustafa Sedqi is an artist and teacher specialising in Islamic geometric ornamentation.
He focuses on teaching the understanding of logic and proportions through clear, step-by-step progression.

Certificate
A minimum of 90% of training hours must be attended.
