Workshop: Nature in the Style of Indian Miniature Painting (April)

About

In this workshop, participants will learn to draw elements of nature such as trees, water, sky, and clouds in the traditional Indian miniature painting style. This will be done through gradual steps, focusing on balanced composition and shading to show depth and colour using stone pigments and gouache. By the end of the workshop, the trainee will have completed a comprehensive landscape painting, rich in detail, showcasing accuracy and authenticity, and developing brush control and colouring skills.

About the coaches

Vinita Sharma
An artist from Jaipur, Rajasthan, who specialises in miniature painting in the traditional Mughal style. She uses authentic stone and earth pigments and maintains age-old hereditary techniques, making her works an embodiment of authenticity and classical beauty.

Aji Sharma
An artist and educator from Jaipur, who has been teaching since 2001 to students from prestigious international universities and art institutes such as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania. He is distinguished by his meticulous and patient approach, balancing artistic skill with the contemplative aspect of traditional art.
