Within the framework of community partnerships that the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation seeks to strengthen, two art workshops were organised in collaboration with the Department of Social Services in Kalba, dedicated to the elderly. These workshops provided an inspiring experience that combined art, creativity, and human interaction.

The first workshop was led by artist Haya Al-Kutbi, who provided participants with a unique experience in decorative and gilding arts. This allowed them to interact with the vocabulary of Islamic art from a practical perspective, by learning about motifs and decorations inspired by nature, and applying them in a simple and enjoyable artistic style.

As for the second workshop, it was presented by the artist Roua Rashed, where she focused on botanical drawing and artistic expression through compositions inspired by natural elements. The workshop was distinguished by dynamic engagement from the elderly, who expressed their happiness with this new artistic experience, which enabled them to express themselves in a stimulating and supportive environment.

This initiative comes as part of the vision of the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation, which aims to empower various segments of society to explore and learn traditional arts, and to contribute to their dissemination through educational and human experiences with a profound positive impact.
