In an atmosphere brimming with colour and contemplation, the ”Rose Painting in Miniatures" workshop commenced at the Calligraphy and Ornamentation School in Fujairah, under the supervision of artist Susanna Marin. Marin is a globally renowned figure in the Baharia miniature art form. She combines academic knowledge with practical experience gained through years of study and training at schools in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh in India. Her works, which pulsate with life and symbolism, are where technical precision intersects with aesthetic sensibility.

Through this course, participants will be offered an authentic artistic experience that revives the traditions of this historical art and evokes the spirit of Indian miniatures with a contemporary flair that combines contemplation and creativity. The workshop focuses on drawing botanical motifs with their precise details using natural pigments and traditional brushes, along with the colour gradation techniques that form the essence of this art. Participants will learn how to handle fine lines and distribute colours with visual harmony that expresses the depth and richness of miniatures. In a calm and inspiring educational atmosphere, Susanna provides each trainee with individual guidance and rich artistic discussion, transforming the workshop into a space for dialogue between the artist and nature, between heritage and personal inspiration. This is in line with the ongoing mission of the School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation to support heritage arts and revive traditional methods with a modern and innovative approach that keeps pace with the spirit of contemporary art.
