Dr. Omnia Abdel Barr

Omniya Abdel Barr is an architect with experience in urban conservation, monument restoration and cultural heritage documentation and digitisation. Her work is focused on Mamluk art and architecture in Egypt. She holds a PhD in history from Aix-Marseille University (2015), an MSc in Conservation from Raymond Lemaire Center in KUL (2004) and a BSc in Architecture from the Fine Arts of Helwan University (2000).

Nuria Garcia Masip is a professional calligrapher and doctoral candidate in Art History at Sorbonne University. She pursued her calligraphic studies under master calligraphers Mohamed Zakariya (Washington D.C.), Hasan Celebi and Davut Bektas (Istanbul).

Dr. Mohamed Hasan

Dr. Mohamed Hasan works as a lecturer of the subject of Document and Manuscript Scripts at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, and the Institute of Arab Research and Studies affiliated with the League of Arab States. He holds a master’s degree in “Writing and the Book in Egypt in the Fatimid Era”, with an excellent grade, and a doctorate in “Diwani Writings in the Era of the Mamluk Sultans”, with honors.

Dr. Sara Choudhrey is a London-based artist and researcher, using an investigative process to explore themes of space, place, heritage and belonging through visual and material culture and surface design.

Professor Dr. Pablo Roza Candás

Professor Dr. Pablo Roza Candás specializes in the study of Aljamiado manuscript production by the Mudejar and Morisco minorities. In addition to editing and analyzing the Aljamiado corpus, his research focuses on the cultural and religious practices of Iberian Crypto-Islamic communities.
