Persian Miniatures Studio Workshops

As part of the activities of the Fujairah International Calligraphy and Ornamentation Competitionthe Persian Miniatures Studio Workshops with the participation of artist Ruhollah Jahannbin,witnessing distinguished attendance and remarkable interaction from those interested in calligraphy and ornamentation arts. The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to learn about the styles and techniques of Persian miniature art and to explore the stages of artistic work in a rich educational experience that combined theoretical and practical aspects.

The workshop, titled

 “Persian Miniature Studio Course: Timurid, Tabriz & Isfahan Schools”

focused on studying the classical schools of Persian miniature art. It emphasized the depiction of mythical creatures (the Div) during the Timurid era, alongside the art of human portraiture in the Safavid-era Tabriz and Isfahan schools. Participants learned about the stylistic characteristics of each school, the nuances in composition, line work, facial expressions, and the aesthetic methods that distinguished each historical period.

Led by Expert Artist Ruhollah Jahannbin,one of the foremost specialists in Persian miniature art. He began his artistic journey at an early age and possesses over twenty years of experience in both artistic practice and academic teaching. Jahannbin holds an equivalent Master's degree in Miniature Art, in addition to an academic background in architecture. He has participated in numerous local and international exhibitions and has held solo exhibitions in Tehran, Isfahan, and Shahrekord. He previously participated in the Miniature Biennale at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and has served as a jury member for several international art competitions and festivals, including those in Fujairah.

This workshop contributed to enhancing the visual skills of the participants and developing their ability to analyze historical artworks. It enabled them to apply the traditional techniques of Persian miniatures in a contemporary style, making it a comprehensive educational experience that combines deep artistic knowledge with purposeful practical application.
