A Nature Drawing Course with Realistic Detail with Siobhán Doherty

Learn how to draw and colour elements of nature with realistic precision using watercolours, under the guidance of an international artist Siobhán Doherty.

Inspired by the plants and wildlife of the United Arab Emirates, this art course offers a learning experience based on careful observation and watercolour painting in a friendly and relaxed environment. The course is built on the fundamental elements of art (line, shadow, shape, colour, texture, and composition) and aims to teach participants how to accurately capture the colours and details of nature, starting from simple studies and progressing to a completed painting. Drawing on her extensive teaching experience, Siobhán provides live demonstrations and dedicated one-to-one support for each participant. The course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to improve their techniques in a skills-based and personally supportive environment.

  • Introduction to artistic tools and materials (pencils, brushes, paper, and watercolours)

Instructor’s Biography: Siobhán Doherty

Siobhán Doherty is an Irish artist specialising in botanical and nature art. She currently serves as the President of the Society of Botanical Artists. as the President (Society of Botanical Artists).

An award-winning artist, she has exhibited her work both in Ireland and internationally, including at the Irish National Exhibition 2020.Her works are part of the National Irish Collection في at the Crawford Gallery in Cork andthe Natural History Museum in Dublin.

Siobhán considers herself a "visual storyteller" who uses her art to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
Notable Works:

  • Designing four sets of Irish national postage stamps representing flowers and animals.
  • Creating illustrations for the "All-Ireland Pollinator Plan" campaign.
    Siobhán continues to deliver workshops and art courses worldwide with a style full of inspiration and technique.
