Creating sections in the Naskh script between function and beauty

In this workshop, participants will learn the aesthetics of Naskh script and how to construct balanced syllables that serve the line and enhance the writing. They will also practice ancient letter-forming methods, understand vowel and ornamentation, and address common writing errors. The goal is for each participant to produce a complete calligraphy work that reflects precision and beauty.

Note: The course is divided into three parts over three days. Attendance is required on all days to fully benefit from the course.

Trainer

Ihab Thabet is a Jordanian-Palestinian calligrapher. He began his calligraphy journey in his childhood under the tutelage of his father, and later obtained a calligraphy license from the renowned calligrapher Muhammad Ozcay He has participated in international exhibitions and festivals in Dubai, Frankfurt, Baghdad, and elsewhere. He also contributed to the creation of the world's largest Quran in Damascus. He has won several important awards, including the Burda Prizeand prizes from international competitions in Türkiye, Qatar, and Malaysia. He is known for his precise style and ability to blend authenticity and innovation in calligraphy.
