This workshop offers an introduction to the world of calligraphy, one of the most important trends in contemporary visual art. This approach combines the authenticity of Arabic calligraphy with modern abstraction, where the letter becomes a visual element in its own right, rather than merely a means of conveying language and meaning.
Participants learn how to manipulate, deconstruct, and extend letters to create new formal and chromatic rhythms, opening the way for greater freedom in artistic composition. They also learn about the interaction between colour and calligraphy as a tool for expressing emotion and spirituality, giving calligraphic paintings their distinctive character.
Day: Monday, October 20, 4:00 – 6:00
Wednesday, October 22, 10:30 – 12:30
Adults (Ages 16+)
Location: Second Floor
Language: Arabic
