This two-day workshop, held in collaboration with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University in Istanbul, offers participants a comprehensive experience in the art of hand-binding notebooks using traditional techniques. On the first day, participants learn how to prepare the notebook's interior by cutting and folding the blank sheets into binders, assembling and sewing them with waxed thread and a needle using a traditional technique, and then gluing and reinforcing the spine with fabric. On the second day, work focuses on creating the cover by cutting the panels and covering them with decorative paper, fabric, or marbled paper. The cover is then assembled with the inner core, adding preservation papers and finishing decorative touches.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created a complete handmade notebook that combines practicality with artistic beauty, providing an immersive experience that blends craftsmanship and creativity.
