Dr. Bilal Mukhtar presents two comprehensive workshops on the art of Arabic calligraphy. The first focuses on: المعايير الجمالية لتكوين اللوحة الخطيةwhile the second takes participants through the mechanics of implementing the composition from concept to final painting.Participants can register for one workshop or both.
Workshop 1 Line Drawing Standards
This workshop addresses the importance of creating a calligraphic painting as a fundamental stage in a calligrapher's journey after mastering the letters. Emphasis is placed on selecting the appropriate text, determining the font type, studying the visual balance between letters and words, and adjusting spacing and spaces, while employing formative elements to achieve a complete work of art.

Workshop 2 - Implementing the idea into a linear composition
This workshop aims to train participants in the techniques for transforming an idea into a finished calligraphic work. It begins with the steps of preparing a pencil sketch and distributing the text according to various calligraphic structures (linear, circular, pyramidal, oval), then moving on to ink, correcting letters, and adding vowel and decorative embellishments. Participants are trained in the techniques of overlaying and scraping to achieve a perfect final work using high-quality materials.

Dr. Bilal Mukhtar Salah Attia is an Egyptian calligrapher born in Sharqia in 1982. He holds a diploma in Arabic calligraphy and illumination, a master's degree in educational technology, and a PhD from Zagazig University in 2017. He worked as an assistant professor of educational technology at Umm Al-Qura University and a professor of Arabic calligraphy at Al-Azhar Mosque. He participated in transcribing three copies of the Qur'an (King Fahd's Qur'an, Al-Azhar's Qur'an, and the Qur'an of the King Abdulaziz Foundation). He has won 27 international awards in Arabic calligraphy, including the Sharjah Award (2014), Okaz Award (2018), Katara Award (2020), and Fujairah Award (2022). He is a member of the jury of the Ninth Cairo International Forum for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy 2024 and is accredited as a trainer by the General Administration for Skills Development at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. He is known for his contributions to establishing specialised centres and courses in Egypt and abroad.
