Persian Miniature Studio Course: Timurid, Tabriz & Isfahan Schools 15 Dec - 17 Dec

About

This course introduces participants to the foundations of Persian miniature art through the study and analysis of the most renowned artistic schools throughout history. The program explores the depiction of mythical creatures during the Timurid era, as well as practical training in drawing human faces following the styles of the Tabriz School of the Safavid period and the Isfahan School. Participants will receive hands-on training that helps them understand the visual characteristics and stylistic differences between these schools, while also becoming familiar with the most influential artists and cultural factors that shaped this art form. The course enhances observation skills and the ability to analyze historical artworks. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn the traditional drawing steps and techniques used to construct faces and decorative elements, enabling them to confidently apply classical methods in their own work. By the end of the course, participants will be able to recognize the artistic distinctions between the Timurid, Tabriz, and Isfahan schools; create drawings inspired by historical models; refine their line quality and composition building; and develop a deeper ability to read traditional artworks and appreciate the aesthetics of Persian miniatures.
