In the workshop "The Wonder of Craft and Creativity", led by visual artist Rawaa Rashid Alhelo, simple materials were transformed into magical creations by the hands of imaginative children. From pieces of foil to tissue paper, and from colourful threads to clay, the young participants embarked on an artistic journey where colour and creativity filled every corner.
A Journey Through Diverse Creative Stations
Artist Rawaa Alhelo, with her rich experience in fine arts and traditional crafts, guided the children through a variety of creative stations, where everyday materials were transformed
into artistic treasures.
Tin Foil Hats: The children transformed simple metal sheets into vibrant summer hats, adorned with drawings that reflected their boundless imagination.
Tissue Paper Paintings: With gentle folds and harmonious colours, the tissue paper was transformed into vibrant, lively art pieces.

The Touch of a Skilled Artist
Rawaa, a graduate of the Women's Institute of Fine Arts with specialisations in embroidery, sculpture, Damascene Ajami, and doll-making, masterfully blended traditional craftsmanship with contemporary creativity. Her wide-ranging experience—from curating local exhibitions to participating in international festivals (including in Tunisia and Uzbekistan)—gave the workshop both artistic and technical depth, all while maintaining an atmosphere of joy and discovery.
Not Just a Workshop… But a Passion in the Making
This workshop was more than just about learning artistic techniques—it was a celebration of creative freedom. Each child left with their artwork in hand, but more importantly, they took away joyful memories and perhaps a seed of passion that, with time, may blossom into a thriving talent.
In the end, the “Rawaa of Craft and Creativity” workshop stood as a beautiful example of how art can bridge tradition and innovation — and how a small hand, when given the chance, the tools, and the right guidance, can create something truly remarkable.
