Turkish Patterns Foundation / beginners -(Jan – Feb) (One Session Only)

You will explore the beautiful art of traditional Islamic ornamentation and illumination to create detailed patterns following the traditional methods as seen in historic Quran and manuscripts.

Learning Outcomes:

You will have a small painted pattern showcasing what you learnt in this workshop.

• Softness of the hand in drawing decorative units and estimating their size theoretically.
• Knowledge of the technique for determining the edges of the units with a brush easily and with high accuracy.
• Knowledge of different techniques and methods of classical illumination.
