About Tiny Notebook Binding:
This course offers an introductory lesson in the art of bookbinding. Even participants who have never shown interest in this craft or have no prior knowledge can achieve successful results from this lesson. The art of bookbinding, which plays a significant role in Islamic arts, is a time-honored tradition that has persisted from the past to the present. Bookbinding stands as its specialization. Each stage of the process demands meticulousness, attention, and patience.
In this course, you will first learn how to create a notebook. Making small notebooks is an excellent option, especially for beginners. You will experience each stage firsthand. You will learn how to cut the paper and make measurements, which is the initial step in notebook making. You will discover the fundamental principles of bookbinding, such as folding the papers into a block, sewing them, basic sewing techniques, bookbinding stages, and working with book cloth, handmade papers, and leather.
Even if you have never attempted this before, you will be able to create a useful little notebook in a short time using simple steps. This lesson, which produces quick results and is easily learned, forms the foundation of the art of bookbinding.

Tutor’s Biography: Furkan YOLDAŞ
Furkan Yoldaş was born on February 12, 1995, in Üsküdar. He completed his
primary, secondary, and high school education in Istanbul. In 2019, he
graduated from Fatih Sultan Mehmet University with a degree in Traditional
Turkish Arts. During his university years, he was introduced to the prominent
figure in the art of bookbinding, the late İslam Seçen, which led him to pursue
bookbinding. Currently he is working as a lecturer at Fatih Sultan Mehmet University and is engaged in manuscript restoration and bookbinding in his own workshop.
