Thuluth Script from the Sabil Umm Abbas Historical Monument in Cairo

This course explores the refined art of Thuluth script through the historical lens of the Sabil Umm Abbas monument in Cairo. Participants will gain a deep appreciation of Islamic heritage, studying the artistic philosophy behind the monument and the exquisite calligraphy of Abdullah Zuhdi. By bridging past and present, the course preserves and transmits this cultural legacy. Comparative studies between Abdullah Zuhdi and Muhammad Sami Effendi’s styles will provide insight into their artistic directions. The program culminates in the creation of an original Jali Thuluth piece inspired by the inscriptions of Sabil Umm Abbas.

Level: Please note that the Thulth script is considered one of the most advanced scripts and we recommend that you start with Reqqah, Diwani and Naskh then start learning Thulth in that order.

Certificate: 

Please note that you should attend at least 90% of the hours to receive your attendance certificate for this course.
