Welcome to our SOCO Summer program at the School of Ornamentation and Calligraphy in Fujairah, UAE!

Join us for an enriching and creative journey where children will explore the fascinating worlds of geometry, ornamentation, calligraphy, and paper crafts. Your child will learn all four subjects every day from international and local experienced artists. Our program is designed to provide a fun and educational experience for children aged 6-16 years old and to educate children about manuscripts and traditional arts.

Dates:

• Choose full set: August 4- August 21
• Choose one week:
  • Week 1: Aug, 4, 5, 6, 7
  • Week 2: Aug 11, 12, 13, 14
  • Week 3: Aug 18, 19, 20, 21
• Choose your time:
  • 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm

  • Age: 6-8

  • Open for girls and boys | Each age group will have its own class, but genders are mixed

The classes are engaging, hands-on activities and interactive lessons. Participants will learn:

• Geometry:
  • Discover the beauty of geometric patterns and shapes through exciting projects and exercises suitable for children.
• Ornamentation:
  • Explore the intricate art of ornamentation and unleash your creativity through guided design sessions inspired by nature:
  • Ornamentation: Traditional motifs from the Islamic world.
  • Ornamentation: Drawing and paintings from nature.
  • Ornamentation: Papier mâché basics to make Islamic-inspired sculptures.

• Arabic Calligraphy:
  • Learn the fundamentals of Arabic calligraphy and master the techniques of beautiful handwriting under the guidance of experienced instructors.
• Craft:
  • Dive into the world of crafting and create unique masterpieces using a variety of materials and techniques. We will have a new teacher every week, and you will learn:
  • Crafts: Folding paper to make shapes known as Origami.
  • Crafts: Fun paper crafts to make cards, pen cases, and masks.
  • Crafts: Bookbinding basics to make small books.
  • Crafts: Paper making basics to make paper from recycled materials and decorate with paper marbling.
  • Crafts: Color making and pigment extraction using natural materials.
  • Crafts: Islamic tile making using fast-dry clay.

Our workshop offers a supportive and nurturing environment where children can develop their artistic skills, cultivate their creativity, and forge lasting friendships with fellow participants.
