Kufi Andalusi Script Intermediate – Jan – Feb – (for Term 1 attendee)

Andalusian calligraphy emerged from within its lines, elegance and originality, distinction and uniqueness.
Its beauty is different from other Arabic fonts. This distinguishes it from other fonts and has an independent aesthetic.
The Kufic script was initially adopted and then developed until it ended in the fourth century
Hijri 01/AD to Andalusian Kufic script: It is characterised by the predominance of angles. It is strongly influenced by the Levantine Kufic script.

Learning Objectives: 

• The emergence of the Kufic script and its transmission to Kairouan.
• Knowing the relationship of calligraphy to architecture in Andalusia
• Getting to know the Alhambra Palace
• Reading some inscriptions from the Alhambra Palace
• Study of the letters of the Andalusian Kufic script
• Study of the text (There is no prevailing but Allah) in Kufic script
• Study of the text (Kingship belongs to God) in Kufic script
• Identifying the Kairouanian Kufic script
• dentifying the script used in writing the Qur’an in Andalusia

Course Objectives: 

1. Learn single letters
2. Learn letter connections
3. Learn to write short sentences
4. Learn to write artistic paintings
5. Learn how to prepare a painting template
6. Learn how to frill and use distressed paper

Course Outcome: Producing a series of simple written works.

• Tuesdays, 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM
  • 10.5 hours of learning, Price: 210 AED

Alhambra Palace Trip:

Students who attend term 1 and term 2 will join us for a students trip to Spain to see all of these beautiful patterns in-person. 

Certificate: 

Please note that you attended 90% of term1 and  term 2 (Jan – Feb) you will be eligible to receive CPD certificate.
