Diwani Script Foundation – Sep-Dec Fujairah & Dibba

This workshop is a great introduction to the Diwani style of calligraphy and you can start learning it with one of our resident calligraphers. Each week, you can practice writing a new word or short sentences until you are proficient enough to produce a complete piece.

Course Goals:

• learn the tools of Arabic calligraphy, such as pens and inks,
• Preparing the inkwell
• Sitting correctly for writing
• Holding and controlling the calligraphy pen
• Producing a small piece with Diwani calligraphy

Learning Objectives: 

1. Learn single letters
2. Learn letter connections
3. Learn to write short sentences
4. Learn to write artistic paintings
5. Learn how to prepare a painting template
6. Learn how to frill and use distressed paper

Course Outcome: Producing a series of simple written works.

Certificate: 

Please note that you have to attend 90% of term 1 (Sep-Dec) to be able to receive your CPD certificate.

Calligraphy Tutor:
This will be taught by our resident calligraphers.
